Where are the Pearls and Plates events held?
The Pearls and Plates events take place at Post Office Island at the Abrolhos Islands, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, and Broken Bay Pearl Farm, each offering a unique culinary and cultural experience.

The Brown family are pearling pioneers - sustainably growing both Australian South Sea pearls at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm and Australian Akoya pearls at Broken Bay Pearl Farm.

Pearls and Plates is not suitable for those under the age of 18 years of age. ​
Can I learn about pearl farming at Pearls and Plates?
Yes! Pearls and Plates offer a unique insight into pearl farming of the Liddon and Brown families, highlighting their contributions to the industry. Each event is held at a pearl farm, so you have the opportunity to learn more about the pearl farming of Australian Black-lip, South Sea and Akoya pearls.
How do I get to a Pearls and Plates event?
Due to the remote location of our Pearls and Plates events, getting to us is at the responsibility of the ticket holder. To learn more about getting to us, please visit the location specific event pages here:
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Our culinary team strives to accommodate to your dietary restrictions. Please notify us in advance so we can do our best in providing the best dining experience. Please note that we are unable to accommodate specific requests on the day of the event.
Can I purchase pearls at Pearls and Plates events?
Yes, there is the opportunity to purchase Black-lip, Australian South Sea and Australian Akoya pearls as well as pearl jewellery featuring all these types of pearls at all three events.
Can I purchase pearl jewellery at a Pearls and Plates event?
You most certainly can, all events will feature locally grown pearls set on beautiful jewellery by both Liddon Pearls and Pearls of Australia.
Are accommodation options available near the event locations?
Accommodation options are only available at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm. You can learn more about their accommodation sites here, or book a Pearls and Plates Cygnet Bay Package.

We are not offering accommodation options for our Post Office Island, Liddon Abrolhos Pearls and Plates event or our Broken Bay Pearls and Plates event. Camping is also not available at our Post Office Island or Broken Bay Pearl Farm locations.
Is transportation provided to the Pearls and Plates locations?
We do not arrange transport to our Post Office Island, Abrolhos Islands Pearls and Plates location, nor our Broken Bay Pearl Farm Pearls and Plates location.

The only arranged transport we currently offer is to our Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm Pearls and Plates location if you book our Cygnet Bay Pearls and Plates Package.
Do any of the Pearls and Plates event locations have a helipad?
Yes! Our Liddon Abrolhos Pearl Farm & Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm Pearls and Plates locations both have a helipad. Please contact us to arrange a landing schedule.

Does the Post Office Island, Abrolhos Islands Pearls and Plates location have an airstrip?
Unfortunately, the Liddon Abrolhos Pearl Farm does not have an airstrip. The best way to visit us is by boat, and you can anchor your boat around Post Office Island. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need information about anchorage positions.
Does Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm have an airstrip?
Yes! Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm has an airstrip. You can fly to Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm via your own aircraft, and land at our airstrip. This does incur a $60 landing and $60 transfer fee each way from the airstrip to Reception, or from Reception to airstrip. Please click here for further information regarding aircrafts and our airstrip.

We do encourage those staying overnight with us and who are coming by personal aircraft to book our Pearler’s Village Safari Tents for best accessibility and to be near the hub of the farm. All amenities are walking distance at the Pearler’s Village – and this is best suited for those without cars. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for landing coordinates and further information.
How long does a Pearls and Plates event last?
Pearls and Plates is a lunch event, and runs from 11am to 4pm.
Is Pearls and Plates held outdoors or indoors?
Pearls and Plates is held in remote locations, however each event is different. The specifics of whether the event will be held outdoors versus indoors will depend on the specific Pearls and Plates event.
How can I stay updated on future Pearls and Plates events?
Subscribe to the Pearls and Plates newsletter on our website or follow our social media channels for updates and announcements.
Is there a refund policy for the tickets?
Tickets to any of our Pearls and Plates events are non-refundable. In the case of Shire restrictions, or adverse weather conditions, the event will be rescheduled and you will be notified of this change in advance. If for any reason you cannot attend the event, you can re-sell your tickets or transfer your tickets privately. When doing so, kindly let us know this change, along with any dietary requirements for the new ticket holder in advance.
Can I bring children to Pearls and Plates?
Our Pearls and Plates events are not suitable for children, and is an over 18 event.
Will there be any vegetarian or vegan options available?
We take any dietary requirements seriously, and would need to know vegetarian or vegan requests prior to the event. Unfortunately, due to the remoteness of our locations, we are unable to accommodate requests on the day of a Pearls and Plates event. By letting us know prior to the event, we would be able to acquire the necessary dietary requests.

Can I drive to a Pearls and Plates event?
You can drive to both our Broken Bay Pearl Farm and Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, however you cannot drive to Liddon Abrolhos Pearl Farm - because it is on Post Office Island! The only way to reach us at Post Office Island is by boat, aircraft or helicopter.
Are pets allowed at Pearls and Plates?
As the Abrolhos Islands are part of a National Park, pets are not allowed at the Liddon Abrolhos Pearl Farm Pearls and Plates event.
What measures are in place for weather contingencies?
Each Pearls and Plates location has contingency plans for inclement weather. Specifics will be provided to ticket holders prior to the event. Generally speaking, April is the best time to travel to the Abrolhos Islands so weather is unlikely to impact the event. Safety of our guests is of the utmost importance to us, so in the rare event of adverse weather conditions we will reschedule the event.
Is there a dress code for Pearls and Plates?
Pearls and Plates is a fine dining experience set in multiple locations across Australia. There is no dress code for the event, so it is up to you if you'd like to be a causal sailor or sophisticated pirate. Singlets, bikinis, etc. are welcomed for swimming before or after the event.
How do I change my Pearls and Plates booking?
Please contact us at hello@pearlsandplates.com.au and we would be happy to assist you in changing your booking. Please keep in mind that all tickets are non-refundable. You can also book here.
Are group discounts available for ticket purchases?
Pearls and Plates events are small, intimate expereinces with only 60 guests per event. The quality of the ingredients, care of preparation and service are the key to your experience. Unfortunately, we would not be able to offer discounts for groups.
Is there a specific schedule for the events?
Yes, each event has a schedule. This information will be provided to ticket holders prior to the event.
What safety measures are in place for Pearls and Plates?
Pearls and Plates adhere to strict safety and hygeine protocols to ensure the well-being of all guests.
Will there be a photographer or videographer at Pearls and Plates?
Yes, there will be a professional photographer capturing moments from Pearls and Plates. Images and videos will be used for promotional purposes.
Can I take my own photos or videos at the event?
Yes, guests are encouraged to take photos and videos, please tag us on social media when sharing @pearlsandplates
How are Pearls and Plates events accessible?
