Pearls and Plates is a unique culinary event that blends gourmet dining with the rich heritage of Australian pearling, featuring local produce, and exquisite Australian grown pearls from beautiful locations.
We do not offer accommodation, nor is camping is not allowed on Post Office Island or neighbouring islands. This is because the Abrolhos Archipelago is both a National Park and Fishing/Aquaculture Reserve.
As there is no accommodation available, the best way to experience Pearls and Plates is to book on board of Eco Abrolhos (see Transport Package) or a cabin on a boat on external vendors private charter boat. We cannot book on your behalf, but please do not hesitate in contacting us at hello@pearlsandplates.com for our recommended charters.
At this stage, we do not offer transport to the Liddon Abrolhos Pearl Farm, however we do recommend getting in touch with Charter Boats from Geraldton. We will release in the next few weeks a package with transport. If you would like any further recommendations, please contact us at hello@pearlsandplates.com
The Pearls and Plates event runs from 11am to 4pm. Guests are welcomed to Post Office Island with signature Campari cocktails and canapés, followed by a long table lunch with entrees, main course and dessert. Beer, wine and champagne are selected to compliment the menu throughout your lunch. It is a degustation journey, with each dish paired with a specific drink to highlight the flavours. Throughout the event there is live music, jewellery and pearls to browse, and art on display by local artists.
Tickets are non-refundable. In the event of Shire restrictions and/or adverse weather conditions, the Pearls and Plate event will be rescheduled. If you cannot attend the event, the ticket holder is allowed to re-sell the ticket privately however you will need to notify us via email at hello@pearlsofaustralia.com.au within 24 hours of the event.
Our Pearls and Plates events are 18+ events, and therefore are not suitable for children.
Vegetarian or vegan dietary requirements must be noted during the booking process. Due to our remote location, we are unable to make any changes to the set menu on the day of the event.
Our Liddon Abrolhos Pearls and Plates event is held in April - the very best time to travel to the Abrolhos Islands. The safety of our guests is of the utmost importance to us, therefore in the rare event of adverse weather conditions, we will reschedule the event.
Pearls and Plates is supported by DPIRD and approved Geraldton Shire. An approved Risk Management Plan is in place for fire, evacuation, medial conditions, etc. in the case of an emergency. The event is held at a remote island, so it is not advised for guests with serious medial conditions or mobility issues to attend.
There are two restrooms available for guests, however no accessible bathrooms are available due to the remote location of this event. Therefore we do not advise guests with physical mobility restrictions or needing wheelchair access.
Pearls and Plates does not handle bookings for transport or accommodation, and only includes the ticket attending the event itself.
It is the responsibility of each group or person to have a sober skipper for any travel between the island and vessel. All vessels traveling to the Liddon Abrolhos Pearl Farm should check the DPIRD Abrolhos Island Informaion Page and follow the safety advice outlined on there.
Due to the limited phone service available at the Liddon Abrolhos Pearl Farm, there will be free WIFI available to guests. Please speak to one of our staff for access.
